ATB, Gouryella, Art Of Trance, System F (Ferry Corsten), Mauro Picotto, Gigi D'Agostino, Lasgo, Fragma, Cosmic Gate, Robert Miles, Paul Van Dyk, DJ Tiesto, Sash!, Scooter, and on and on... do you know or have ever heard of any of them? They're just a few music artists of the Trance music scenario, one of the most popular dance music styles of today's day, it's been around since the beginning of the 90's.
Trance music did not come to prominence in Brazil during the 90's, except by Robert Miles with his wonderful tune Children, in 1996, and possibly other ones that I can't recall now. From 1999 it appeared here, especially in 2000, with all its power. At that time, there was no more sign of EuroDance and Trance adopted lots of fans. Nowadays, Psy Trance is the style that draws Brazilians' attention the most, not mine though. I prefer other styles such as Uplifiting/Epic, Hard Trance, Acid Trance, Vocal Trance, Euro Trance, Dream Trance, Ibiza Trance, etc. Further information about Trance styles: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trance_genres
My last recorded set was all in Trance, almost 80 minutes of mixed music. Trance so far has been the most difficult to keep under control when mixing, it has faster BPM (beats per minute), the most challenging, but the most enjoyable.
When attending my DJ course, I flanked my last exam, therefore I could not get my certificate. I left the course with only one thing in mind, I'd be practicing in the mix until I mastered it... Time went by, I successfully, over time, achieved success in mixing EuroDance, House (90s), Techno with Speed Garage, and last but not least, Trance. Today, I had the chance to share my uploaded Trance set with my teacher of the course, he told me to have liked it by e-mail, no sooner had I received his e-mail than I called him to hear his point of view。 He liked my set so much, told me that everything was perfect that it had to be but the passage from the first to the second song... Well, I did agree with him, that one was ugly, LOL!!!
Today, I spent most of my time listening to Trance, so cool, so nice!
See you later buddy!
